The sound of crashing waves will echo to the thunder of hooves as Polo on the Beach - the ultimate culture clash - returns to Watergate Bay this September.
Last year we held the first ever polo match to be played on a UK beach. It was one of the most glamorous events yet at Watergate Bay, and this year’s match promises to be even better – sunbleached surfers will rub shoulders with the thoroughbred polo set in a late summer’s evening of saltwater adrenaline.
20 polo ponies will be on the beach to play the exhibition match, which is completely free for spectators. So if you’ve always hankered after the cocktail dress and wellies combo, this is your moment.
Polo on the Beach is completely free to attend. The polo starts at 7pm, and to help you soak up the atmosphere public champagne and seafood bars will be open on the beach from 6pm.
If you’re looking for a more exclusive experience, our evening hospitality packages are the perfect way to watch the match in style. Starting with a champagne and canapé reception and live jazz band on the hotel terrace, the £90 package also includes a seafood barbeque buffet after the match, and entry to the legendary post-polo party.
