When Fifteen Cornwall did Tea Cosy Day…
It was a busy day at the Truro branch of Whitestuff on Thursday 22nd September!
It was ‘National Wear A Tea Cosy On Your Head Day’, a day created by Whitestuff last year to help each store raise funds for their nominated local charity.
Fifteen Cornwall are lucky enough to have been nominated by Whitestuff Truro as their local charity and the store actively work to raise money for the Cornwall Foundation of Promise throughout the year.
The day started early for our apprentices as they were in the kitchen baking 250 cup cakes and decorating them with scrummy pink butter cream. After a short car journey to the Truro store (unfortunately there were a few cake tragedies, eating them was the only decent thing to do) we arrived at a bustling Whitestuff store ready to greet their shoppers with tea and coffee (from proper china cups and saucers!) and not forgetting the cakes – which were sold for a small donation to the Cornwall Foundation of Promise.
Chris and Jake from cohort 6 were on hand to speak to the shoppers and answer any questions about the apprentice programme – they too sported beautiful tea cosys!
We received a very warm welcome from the staff and shoppers alike and the cakes certainly went down well. Everybody looked great with a tea cosy on their head!
In total we collected £55 over the Thursday, Friday and Saturday and that doesn’t include the donation of 1% on all revenue sold on 22nd September from the Truro store! We’d like to say a massive thank you to everybody involved and for White Stuff’s continuing support!

Brilliant! Last years National Wear A Tea Cosy On Your Head day was so much fun and it looks like this year was equally so… White Stuff Truro’s customers seem to really ‘get it’ and probably because of us being a local charity all really get behind us and donate/join in generously of both donations and spirit. The staff at Truro store are so supportive, interested, passionate and motivated it is great for us… Speaking on behalf of all of us at Fifteen Cornwall, but primarily from me because I am Truro’s contact, we are so grateful to them and the White Stuff Foundation for this and love our friendship we have… three cheers and long may it continue!! Hip Hip…x
