Fifteen Cornwall is owned by the newly renamed Cornwall Food Foundation, registered charity no.1119341 and is mainly funded by the restaurant profits.
The Foundation was set up to give disadvantaged young people in Cornwall a platform to discover their true potential.
We believe food skills are life skills that can unlock the true potential of the most challenged individual.
By working with people and food we can improve the economy, environment and health of Cornwall.
Our mission is to inspire people in Cornwall through food and enable those in greatest need to achieve meaningful, sustained change through training, employment and better life opportunities - while adding real value to the local economy.
The Foundation has been pivotal to Fifteen Cornwall’s success, running the training programme and looking after the welfare of the apprentices during their time here.
Its principles and thinking mirror Jamie Oliver’s Food Foundation and Jamie remains a committed and inspirational figurehead for us.
The Cornwall Food Foundation is wholly independent, and is working to run great training programmes, develop community food skills and strengthen the local food system
Since May 06, the Cornwall Food Foundation has enrolled over 120 apprentices. Over 90% are still in work, and over 70% are still cheffing today.
Whether or not an apprentice makes it to graduation, the Foundation works tirelessly and seamlessly to create the environment needed for these young people to flourish.
