Fifteen Friday Face- Pastry Chef Hannah
We are currently on the look out for a CDP to join our team in the kitchen. The role will entail not only creating delicious dishes, but also passing on knowledge and skills to our apprentice chefs. To give you an idea of what it’s like to work in our kitchen we asked Hannah our Pastry Chef to answer our Friday Questions with a couple of extras thrown in about the job…
What do you do when you are at Fifteen Cornwall?
“i make cakes and train our apprentice chefs to make cakes!”
What made you apply to work at Fifteen Cornwall?
“it’s the place to be; I wanted to work with the most amazing seasonal produce.”
How was your first day at Fifteen Cornwall?
“Daunting, we had 130 booked for lunch. I relished the challenge and got stuck in creating delicious deserts with Buttervilla’s strawberries and Amedei’s Tuscan chocolate.”
Why is Fifteen Cornwall different to anywhere else you have worked?
“The people, we’re a real family!.”
What do you do when you are not at Fifteen Cornwall?
“Run after a certain two year old.”
Tell us about the best dish you have ever eaten at Fifteen Cornwall…
“Well, it was probably when Amber was on pasta and she made sardine taglierini Sicilian style.”
Tell us about your favourite drink…
“where do I start, I love cocktails- mojitos, but the best drinks are always with friends. There’s no point drinking alone.”
What would be your ‘Desert Island Disc'(album)?
“Alyah, Follow Me.“
What would be your desert Island ingredient?
” Lemons, they’re so versatile!”
Who would you invite to your last supper?
“It would have to be my sister, John Candy, Jonathan Rhys Meyers and Kate Moss, she’d be fun!”
If you could eat dinner at any restaurant this evening where would it be and why?
“Big Easy on the Kings Road, we went there a lot when I was kid, it just brings back great childhood memories.”
