Gordon Lawrence at the Fifteen Cornwall Spring Fayre – 14th March 2015
Gordon Lawrence, Head Sommelier at Fifteen Cornwall will be holding a wine demonstration at the Spring Fayre on Saturday 14th March at 2.30pm.
Gordon’s working life began in the deep, dark world of finance in London. During this time, he was able to indulge his passion for food and wine, witnessing the great vintages of the 1980’s and 1990’s at their birth. Gordon was fortunate to travel all around the globe and have the opportunity to learn about the many different wines and their regions.
In 2001 Gordon saw the light and moved with his family to the north coast of Cornwall. Gordon started work for Rick Stein at the Seafood Restaurant and leveraged his wine knowledge into a new career in wine.
In 2006, Fifteen Cornwall opened and Gordon joined as head sommelier. In the past seven years he has been able to travel extensively throughout Italy and master a thorough knowledge of the country and its wines, some of which you will see on our wine list.
Gordon lives right on the beach, with a view across the north cliffs of Cornwall with his three kids, his ever patient wife and not forgetting Dizzy his dog.
Come and see Gordy at our Spring Fayre which is on the Saturday 14th March, 9.30 to 3.30 in the Extreme Car Park, Watergate Bay. There will also be lots of stalls selling tasty local produce and a kids kitchen area with fun foodie activities organised by our charity the Cornwall Food Foundation.
