We don’t think there’s a better place to be than Cornwall in the spring time and the first signs of spring are starting to appear over the Cornish countryside. Wild gorse flowers scent the coast paths, fields full of blossoming golden daffodils, lighter evenings and the arrival of sensational spring produce.
Sensational Spring Flavours
We’ve got plenty of plates full of seasonal spring flavours to get you ready for the warmer months. Get started with a few small plates to share or enjoy as a starter: Cornish grilled sardines, dressed with chilli and mint, creamy Italian burrata with chargrilled raddichio, Cornish leaves, wild garlic and hazelnut pesto or artichoke caponata with soft, crumbly Vulscombe goat’s cheese.
Dishes from our risotto and pasta section were a firm favourite with guests this winter and our spring dishes won’t disappoint. Enjoy Sicilian style potato gnocchi with sausage ragu, ravioli parcels filled with ricotta and chard and served in a lemon butter sauce, or indulge in a luxurious cauliflower, hazelnut and rosemary risotto.
Our large plates celebrate the best of the local produce. Savour seafood by the seaside with Cornish fish of the day or Cornish fish fritto with gurnard and mussels. Enjoy Josper-grilled ribeye or perhaps a T-bone to share from Philip Warren Westcountry. Al forno potatoes seasoned with herbs are the perfect contorni to add to any plate or choose One Field Farm polenta or Inzimino do Ceci.
Delicate desserts await the end of your meal, refresh your taste buds with Mariana’s lemon bavarois with lemon caramel and lemon marshmallow or wind down with a selection of award winning cheeses perhaps paired with a sweet dessert wine or digestif.
As the nights start to get longer join us for spring sunsets, long cocktails, all whilst enjoying these delicious new dishes from the menu.
Try a selection of dishes at lunch with 2 courses for £22 or 3 courses for £27 until 5 April. Excludes Mother’s Day.
