Spring/Summer 2017 Wine – Part 1

Elly Owen our Head Sommelier, has recently reviewed our wine list to complement the new seasonal flavours on our menu. We offer accompanying wine pairings on both our tasting and à la carte menus. This gives our customers the opportunity to try some fantastic wines to go with the dishes they choose, whilst providing them with a well rounded dining experience.

Elly Owen, Barda wine

Barda is a Pinot Noir from Patagonia, a region more commonly associated with heavier styles of wine, such as Malbec.  It is made by Mr. Incisa, from the family who make Sassicia.

This wine is grown bio-dynamically in accordance with the writings of Rudolf Steiner and co-ordinates viticulture/agriculture with the phases of the planets and moon. It means there is a greater natural balance in the vineyard with thriving wild plants and nature. The wine has no filtration or fining and is as natural as you can get, with as little sulphur as possible.

”This wine has a beautiful colour and complexity that Pinot can struggle to achieve. It brims with red fruit and has a lovely depth of flavour with earthy undertones and velvety tannins. It is a wine I fell in love with and I hope that you will enjoy it as much as I do.”
