Work placements for our Cohort 11 Apprentices

Our apprentices have now left the Fifteen Cornwall kitchen and are completing their final few weeks of the programme in work placements across the country. The work placements provide them with an opportunity to gain vital experience in another professional kitchen, as well as helping them into a full time position. Many of our previous apprentices have gone on to work as a permanent member of the team within these kitchens.

So far they are all working hard and enjoying themselves, the hours are longer than some of them are used to, but they are embracing the experience. They are also enjoying showing off the skills they have learnt during their time with us and have been sharing knowledge and skills with their new colleagues.

Aaron is completing his placement at The Longstore Steaks & Seafood in Charlestown, which is currently overseen by Executive Chef Ben Ambridge, who is also a graduate of the Fifteen Cornwall Apprentice Programme.

Brandon is working at the Ruin Beach Cafe on Tresco in the Isles of Scilly. They have been great supporters of ours over the years and always agree to take on an apprentice, many of whom have gone on to work there as permanent members of staff.

David is working at The Boatshed in Penzance.

Fiona is at The Latymer a fine dining restaurant in Pennyhill Park in Surrey.

Jordan is at Murano, Angela Hartnett’s Michelin starred restaurant in Mayfair. The restaurant serves modern, seasonal Italian dishes, so he will be able to build on his knowledge of Italian cuisine.

Kurtis is at the Harbour Fish and Grill in Newquay. They took Lewis, one of our apprentices from Cohort 10 as a placement student last year and he is still working there today.

Liam has joined the team at Bustopher Jones in Truro.

Oli has gone to The Star and Garter in Falmouth.
