Cornwall Food Foundation

Fifteen Cornwall is owned by  Cornwall Food Foundation, registered charity no.1119341 and the award winning Apprentice Programme is mainly funded by the restaurant profits.

We inspire people in Cornwall through food to make meaningful change in their lives.

The Foundation was originally set up to give disadvantaged young people in Cornwall a platform to discover their true potential. We believe food skills are life skills that can unlock the true potential of the most challenged individual. By working with people and food we can improve the economy, environment and health of Cornwall.

The Foundation has been pivotal to Fifteen Cornwall’s success, running the training programme and looking after the welfare of the apprentices during their time here. Its principles and thinking mirror Jamie Oliver’s Food Foundation and Jamie remains a committed and inspirational figurehead for us.

The Cornwall Food Foundation is wholly independent, running great training programmes, developing community food skills and strengthening the local food system.

Since May 06, the Cornwall Food Foundation has enrolled over 170 apprentices. Over 90% are still in work, and over 80% are still cheffing today.Whether or not an apprentice makes it to graduation, the Foundation team continue towards creating an environment needed for these young people to flourish.
