Fifteen Cornwall Autumn Fayre 2014


This Saturday 18th October, between 9:30am – 3:30pm, Fifteen Cornwall will be hosting its Autumn Fayre (previously known as the Farmers’ Market) in the Extreme Academy car park at Watergate Bay.

Autumn is the perfect time of year for Fifteen’s local suppliers, growers and supporters to celebrate their Cornish harvest and what better place to showcase than at Fifteen Cornwall. Now in its eighth year, the renowned event sponsored by First Great Western, will be bustling with all sorts of seasonal produce, from Cornish fish to local meat, from store cupboard chutneys to artisan cheese and bread. Stallholders include; Deli Farm Charcuterie, Matthew Stevens & Sons, Stein’s Patisserie, Cornish Meadow Preserves and Primrose Herd, just to name a few.

The renowned Chef’s Demonstration Kitchen will take centre stage, hosted by BBC Radio Cornwall’s Daphne Skinnard. The timetable is as follows:

  • 10am – Fifteen’s very own cocktail king, Josh Linfitt, preparing breakfast cocktails
  • 10.30am – Stuart Pate, Head Pastry Chef at Steins, demonstrating the art of macarons
  • 11.30am – Chris Eden, Head Chef at the Michelin starred The Driftwood, demonstrating a partridge dish
  • 1pm – Andy Appleton, Head Chef at Fifteen Cornwall
  • 2.15pm – Ryan Venning, Head Chef at Porthminster Beach Cafe, demonstrating a venison and autumnal mushroom dish

 

There will be a culinary apprentice challenge running throughout the day and there will also be the ‘Fun-Filled Food Zone’  run by the Cornwall Food Foundation; the charity behind the restaurant and manages the award winning Fifteen Cornwall Apprentice Programme. Bring the little ones along for smoothie making on a bicycle, plant your own veggies, build your own brekkie, face painting and lots of other foodie fun.
