Our trainees

Meet our trainee chefs – Cohort 14!

Find out more about the Training programme

The group started with us in April 2019 following four months at Cornwall College completing their VRQ level one in Catering Studies. They now embark on an incredible, action packed 12 months at Fifteen Cornwall, where at the end they will become fully fledged professional chefs. During their 12 months with us as well as working in our kitchen alongside our training chefs, they will continue to attend college to achieve their level two VRQ, go on sourcing trips and work alongside some of our suppliers to find out more about the amazing products we use in our kitchen.

Applications are open for our 15th cohort of trainees. Find out more and apply today

Before joining the programme he used to compete in karate competitions around Cornwall and was often found skateboarding and surfing. He also used to be a KP in his local Chinese restaurant which is what inspired him to join the programme. After completing the programme, he would like to run his own bar and grill restaurant or train to be a head chef. His favourite meals to eat are lasagne and Shepard’s Pie and He’s most nervous about not keeping up with the high standard of the course.

“I’m looking forward to gaining a vast knowledge of different sections, styles and dishes”.

Before joining the programme, you could find Kyle gaming at home, taking photos of Newquay’s beaches or filming tricks at the skate park. After becoming a fully qualified chef through the programme, Kyle hopes to open up his own pub or restaurant. He is most nervous about making mistakes with the food he cooks in the Fifteen kitchen.

“I’m most looking forward to learning about how to make all different types of food and dishes on the Fifteen menu”
