Our Head Sommelier Elly Owen is mad about Madeira, it’s one of her all-time favourite wines, so she is particularly excited about this event on Friday 16 March at 7pm.
Bovey Wines was formed in 1984 with the specific purpose of importing the Madeira Wines of Pereira D’Oliveira, who, up to that time, had not exported commercially to the UK. The speciality of the firm is aged Reserva & Colheita Wines from Pereira D’Oliveira who have unique stocks of these wines dating back to 1850.
This tasting is a once in a lifetime opportunity to taste Madeira’s dating back to the 1900’s. We will start with a calibration of sweet and dry Madeira’s, moving on to a timeline of Madeira’s dating all the way back to 1907. Not only will we be looking at the wines themselves, but at the events that were occurring in the years these wines were created.
We will be serving small plates of antipasti from the kitchen to accompany the wines.
Limited tickets are available for this exclusive event, priced at £45 per person to include wine, antipasti and expert insight.
